Shakyamuni Buddha

This is an unmounted tangkha of Shakyamuni Buddha.  The Buddha sits on a lion throne with a lotus seat and is surrounded by symbols of the Six Paramitas amongst offering clouds.  It was painted by Kunzang Namgyal, Tashi Palden’s nephew who lives in Tibet and studies art at the University of Lhasa.  It measures approximately 2′ by 3′.
